The Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) Injury Control COBRE is pleased to announce two funding opportunities. Applicants must be investigators with Rhode Island faculty appointments (residents and fellows are not eligible). The Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) Injury Control COBRE is pleased to announce two funding opportunity for injury control research. 1. Pilot project proposals: Applicants must be investigators with faculty appointments (residents and fellows are not eligible). Applicants must be from Rhode Island based affiliates. Pilot studies will last up to 2 years with a total budget of up to $50,000. Four pilot studies will be funded annually. 2. Research project proposals: Applicants must hold a faculty-equivalent position at the time of funding and be eligible for NIH funding but not yet have received R01-level funding or the equivalent or have concurrent funding from another IDeA program (e.g., other COBREs, Advance CTR funding). Eligible applicants may serve or have served as co- investigator/ collaborator on a research grant, or as PI of exploratory/pilot project grants (such as NIH R03 and R21 awards), or a mentored career development awards. Project leaders must be able to devote 6 calendar months (50% effort) to the COBRE project. This level of effort is typically allowable in the last two years of mentored K awards. Applicants must be from Rhode Island based affiliates. Priority will be given to RIH (or Hasbro Children’s Hospital) based faculty. Successful applicants may receive up to $150,000 per year in direct costs, including 6 calendar months (50%) per year of effort, for a 2 year project.
